Tiger Drum's Journey...
When Amy passed this drum to me to paint I 'saw' what the finished work would look like immediately. Sometimes that just happens, especially with the skin drums as the energy / spirit is already there, there can sometimes be a little more room to maneuver with the synthetic drums.
What I have discovered however, so far, that no matter what the drum is created from, or what image is to be revealed/painted there is a magic, a story and a lesson from each.
So here are some stage by stage photos of this Tiger emerge, as emerge she did...
It felt really important to allow the image and the skin speak and for me not to saturate this drum with too much paint, each brush stroke was mindful, and the need to allow this Tiger to emerge in her own time was evident...
